Develop your child’s love of creating edible art with Sugar Pop Bakery. We offer a wide range of workshops during school breaks for children aged 5 to adults.
Full workshops are usually grouped according to age groups and are kept to a limited number of students per class. The age group is a guide and it’s up to parents discretion as to the maturity level of their child. Kids who often do crafts and baking at home tend to find older groups manageable. Pre-booking is required for all enrolment to allow time for us to make sure each child has enough ingredients and attention on the day.
(Some workshops allow younger kids to be assisted with an adult helper. If the helper wishes to make their own, they will be charged as an entry.)
Cake Decorating Kit $25
We recommend students who take our regular cake decorating classes to purchase their own tool kit to try their new skills at home. Our bakery will provide tools for students on the day but depending on class intake, some students will be required to share.

1. Can I enrol my child if s/he is between age groups?
Yes! The age group is a guide as to the difficulty of the tasks and it’s up to the parent’s discretion regarding the maturity of your child and their experience with crafts/baking. If your child has taken our workshops before, they will be fine to join the older kids as well. Older kids who have younger siblings and wish to join them for the junior workshops, that is perfectly acceptable. There is no age restrictions with creative work.
2. Will the children be learning from scratch or is it a decorating workshop?
Our school workshops are all full workshops. That means kids will be learning the basic recipe for cake pops but will be given pre-baked cupcakes and donuts to decorate to save on baking time. Parents are encouraged to be on time for this reason.
3. Are there parking available on site?
There’s plenty of free parking along Asquith Street and within the building compound. Parents are welcome to wait in the many cafes and restaurants in the area during session times.
4. Can parents join the workshop as well?
Yes. Parents can join the workshop for the same price as the kids. From past experience, parents who do so tend to miss out on much of the session as they will be distracted. We do have adult masterclasses as well as our casual Sip and Dip sessions during the year for this reason.
Terms and Conditions for Workshops:
Refunds are not available once payment has been made under any circumstances. Please check the dates and times carefully before you book. If you have class credit, this is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Money or goods cannot be exchanged for class credit under any circumstances. In the unlikely event that Sugar Pop Bakery has to cancel a class, we will offer a full refund , a credit or another place in another class if available.
